Dear Friends of BFA,
As the school year winds down, and as children enjoy a couple of months of summer fun it is time for us to prepare for the Christmas in July program. We are seeking sponsors, much like the tree of hope, to adopt a child and buy them back to school supplies and one new outfit of clothing to start the school year.
This program helps the children of Brunswick County who are verified by BFA as being at 100% of the federal poverty level. The children can go back to school with confidence, knowing they can start the school year with all of the items they need to succeed in school! The program has been in existence since 2006. Last year we helped 391 school children from K-8th grade.
The program is successful because of the concern and generosity of individuals and organizations such as yourself. Please call BFA if you would like to assist with adopting a child in need at (910) 754-4766. The program is open for enrollment from May 26th to July 26th. We will distribute backpacks with all supplies and clothing at our office in Shallotte and in Leland on August 16th and 17th. Please call now to get your tag and help a child in need!
With thanks,
Olivia Dorsey
