To the staff at Brunswick Family Assistance:

When I think of Brunswick Family Assistance I think I hope, I think of friendship, I think of family. In September, 2014, my husband lost his job, could not find work anywhere, in November I went to Brunswick Family Assistance for the first time.  My power was being turned off, we had no groceries, I didn’t know what to do.

They talked to me, helped me and told me about food banks in the area.  I left there with food and a little hope.  In December, we lost our house we were living in and didn’t know what to do.  I went back to BFA, and met Sue.  We talked about options on where i could find somewhere to live.  She told me they would help me get started in a place.

When we found a place, I went back there and asked if they could help me with the first month’s rent.  She started paperwork immediately.  Called my new landlords and got the ball rolling.

Since then he has been working, we have been here ever since. Now things are looking brighter and I got a transfer out of state. I went by BFA to thank them what they did for us. Not only did they help me with my power bill and rent and food, but they helped me knowing I had someone to talk to, I had someone who really cared.

Sue and the staff will always have a special place in my heart. These people are the angels of Brunswick County. Thank you for all you do to help the community.  We will be forever grateful.
